The Braun Silk epil 7 is one of the best epilators currently available on the market. I have been using this since the day I bought it up to today.
In my opinion silk epil 7 is the best epilator which I have used in many years. The device is able to remove very short hairs and it is a relief that silk epil 7 is less painful than some of the top competitors.
It also has a few advantages and features that put it ahead of offerings from other manufacturers.
Silk Epil 7 is a Wet & Dry Epilator
My personal and most impressive feature of the epilator, is that it can be used in the wet or the dry. In fact, you can submerge it completely underwater to use while in the bath and you’ll find it offers a much gentler and smoother experience as a result.
This is a great idea and something that can make the prospect of automatically ripping out all your leg hairs a lot less daunting!
This also makes the device much more practical: if you want just a quick go-over in the shower, then there’s nothing stopping you!
The device also comes with five separate attachments. These are a shaver-head, a trimmer cap, an efficiency cap, a sensitive area cap and a facial cap. These all offer a more tailored experience for different parts of the body, ensuring you don’t struggle in the armpits.
It’s also intended for use around the chin and neck. Two speed modes (gentle and ‘high-efficiency’) help to tailor the experience even more to your preferences.
As you would expect from a device that can be used underwater, the Silk-epil 7 is completely cordless. The battery is chargeable and offers a good lifespan for a relatively short amount of time plugged in.
Some epilators can be disappointing, forcing you to go over the same patch of stubborn hair again and again with no luck.
This one is a little better and can effectively remove fine hairs as small as 0.55mm right from the root. This leaves the skin feeling genuinely smooth and that great feeling can last up to four weeks.
Braun says this is their most efficient epilator yet and put this down to the use of 40 tweezers with ‘close-grip technology’.
This is also combined with high-frequency massage to stimulate the skin and soothe discomfort.
Silk-épil 7 is my favorite and the best epilator I have ever used – Yes that’s my opinion!
So does the Silk-epil 7 live up to its promise? Overall, the answer would have to be yes. With tons of features and the novel option to use this in the water, this is one of the most advanced epilators as well as being one of the most practical.
As for whether it’s as comfortable as Braun make out, that’s somewhat debatable. Used on the chin it can certainly cause you to wince a little at first but that’s to be expected.
No epilator is exactly pleasurable to use though and as they go, this is certainly one of the more bearable – especially when used underwater.
The only downside to the experience then is the noise! It sounds a little like you dropped a box of nails into the blender and while this isn’t going to be a big issue for most people, it can be a little off-putting for first time users.
That said, it is overall probably the best epilator on the market right now. It’s a little on the expensive side but if you’re looking for something that actually works and that makes the experience as pleasant and practical as possible, then it’s a no-brainer.
